Don’t Get Hooked: Phishing Campaign Training Starts October 1!

Don’t be the bait to an online hacker! On Thursday, October 1, all employees with a company-issued email address will receive an email to complete an online training course focusing on how to recognize and avoid phishing attacks. The training is a maximum of 20 minutes and we need every employee who has a company-issued email to complete the phishing course.

But really, what is phishing?

Phishing is the fraudulent attempt to obtain sensitive information or data, such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details, by disguising oneself as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. Phishing is dangerous, especially for large corporate environments, since criminals use the information they obtain from an attack to install invisible software on your devices, which can cause significant operational, reputational, and financial harm.

Please take a few moments to watch a video from Jeff Davey, CIO of Artera, stressing the importance that our best defense against attacks is for every employee to be aware.

For any questions regarding the training, contact the IT Helpdesk (866-624-5916).
